Cyril is the CEO and cofounder of Tribe -- but he doesn't come from your prototypical Silicon Valley founder's background. A native of France, his journey to founding Tribe involved dropping out of school to professionally breakdance for over a decade. He was crowned the EU champion and Vice World Champion for three straight years. Whilecompeting in more than 60 countries around the world he relied on early social products to stay close to family and friends, which is when he realized that texting and other messaging apps are cold, impersonal, and don't have the ability to really connect people. So he created one. Inspired by these experiences and frustrations, Cyril founded Tribe to create an asynchronous video messaging experience that offers emotion, convenience, and the ability to make people feel like they are together, all the time.
